There is always a story in the places we visit that I should tell in my photographs, yet I always miss it. Here it is that Turkey is a modern nation, with the infrasturcture, and the political and economic clout of any European nation. I'm naive to have thought otherwise. I spent our entire trip in search of the Turkey that I wanted - something quaint, of another age. It can still be found in the world of the tourist and it is there, save a brief stop in Konya, that we confined the course of our journey.
